В течение многих десятилетий табачная отрасль поддерживала мифы о том, что законы о запрете курения излишни и обременительны, и что они негативно скажутся на экономике, ограничат свободы людей и приведут к банкротству ряда предприятий, таких как бары и рестораны. Только лишь одни табачные компании и их союзники отрицают вред, который приносит всем вдыхание табачного дыма. Для успешной борьбы с мифами, которые они создали и поддерживают, сторонникам запрета курения необходимо вооружиться фактами.
Миф: "Вдыхание табачного дыма не приносит вреда здоровью"
Факты: Все научные сообщества в мире, включая Всемирную организацию здравоохранения, Международное агентство по исследованию рака (International Agency for Research on Cancer) и Центры по контролю и профилактике заболеваний США (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), пришли к одному и тому же мнению: вдыхание табачного дыма представляет серьёзную угрозу для здоровья и является причиной заболеваний и смерти.1,2,3
